LatencyDividend - Aby Warburg - Delayed recognition becomes historical and semantic value. A temporal-pedagogical operator for dormant work becoming visible as infrastructure - Socioplastics - LAPIEZA-LAB - Anto Lloveras

LatencyDividend is tied to Aby Warburg because cultural forms can survive invisibly, return unexpectedly and gain force after periods of dormancy. In Socioplastics, delay is not absence of value but field maturation before recognition. The operator names the surplus produced when a corpus becomes legible late: old work appears as infrastructure, previous fragments become evidence, and unnoticed density begins to attract interpretation. LatencyDividend turns waiting into historical capital without romanticising neglect. It gives delayed visibility a precise epistemic and pedagogical function: dormant material can teach once the field is ready to read it. Its internal companion is ArchiveFatigue, because latent value requires renewed legibility, orientation and reactivation. This genealogy draws on Warburg’s The Renewal of Pagan Antiquity (1999), and is developed in Lloveras’ Socioplastics Project Index (2026), https://antolloveras.blogspot.com/p/socioplastics-project-index.html.
